Dr. Ashley Westmoreland is an OB/GYN dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for women through every stage of life. A San Diego native, she was born at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and is honored to care for the community she has always considered home and to deliver babies at the very hospital where she was born. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, where she served as a Chief Resident. Her residency training at a Level III obstetric center provided extensive experience caring for both routine and high-risk pregnancies and managing complex obstetric and gynecologic conditions. As a Chief Resident, she was recognized for developing and implementing educational programs and technological tools to enhance training for incoming residents.

 

Dr. Westmoreland takes a comprehensive approach to women’s health that extends beyond pregnancy and gynecologic disease to encompass the many factors that contribute to a woman’s health, confidence, and quality of life. Her clinical interests include comprehensive women’s wellness, preconception and preventive care, aesthetic, functional, and cosmetic gynecology. She has experience in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures, hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, and procedural treatment of various other common gynecologic conditions. She is certified in da vinci robotic-assisted surgery and is passionate about cosmetic gynecology and continuing to advance her training in evolving approaches to women’s health and aesthetic care.

 

Dr. Westmoreland believes that caring for women means seeing the whole person, not simply the pregnancy, diagnosis, or procedure that brings a patient into the office. She strives to create an environment where patients feel heard, informed, and comfortable discussing both their medical concerns and personal goals. Her approach combines thoughtful, individualized care with a commitment to lifelong learning and staying current with advances in the field.

 

Dr. Westmoreland is fluent in English and conversational in Spanish.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys Pilates and pursuing her love of the arts, whether painting by the ocean after a beach walk, sewing, or reading classic literature, poetry and philosophy.
